This week, our members had the opportunity to volunteer at the The Kids’ Reading Hour (TKRH) event, and it was such a heartwarming experience! TKRH is a program that brings together volunteers and young children for an hour of storytelling, learning, and fun—with the goal of promoting literacy and a love for reading at an early age.
Our volunteers spent the day reading books aloud, helping kids sound out new words, and engaging them in discussions about the stories. From classic picture books to exciting adventures, the kids were all smiles and full of energy. It wasn’t just about reading, it was about creating connection, encouraging imagination, and making learning feel exciting.
One of the best parts of the event was seeing how quickly bonds were formed. Whether it was laughing over a silly book or helping a child spell out a tricky word, every interaction made a difference. Many of our volunteers said it reminded them of why they wanted to work in healthcare or education in the first place, to make an impact, no matter how small it may seem.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support TKRH and gave your time to create such a positive and uplifting environment for the kids. We’re excited to partner with this program again in the future!
If you’re interested in joining the next TKRH event, stay tuned for more details, this is definitely one you won’t want to miss.
