At AMSA, we provide our own volunteering events to active general members. Cope Health Scholars

Barstow Community Hospital Scribing

Barstow Community Hospital is looking for potentially interested students who would like to become scribes in their Emergency Room. This is a great opportunity for any pre-health students who are interested in gaining paid clinical experience, learning more about medicine in an exciting, fast-paced environment, and working with underserved and/or rural communities in medicine. Scribes will learn alongside doctors and other healthcare providers by taking notes on patient visits and completing electronic charts for each patient. Local Medical Assistant Job Opportunity

Behavioral Lab Subject Pool Recruitment

The UCR School of Business Behavioral Lab is recruiting participants to take part in research studies conducted by faculty. Studies will be on topics such as decision-making, consumer behavior, organizational behavior, negotiations, and group work. These studies will pay cash for in-person studies (ranging from $5 to $50, depending on the study) or provide opportunities to win Amazon gift cards (ranging from $25 to $100, depending on the study). Studies will be available throughout the year depending on researchers' needs. When studies become available, you will be notified by email and will be able to sign up for a specific session or directly participate in an online study.

Stanford University Medical Scribe Fellowship (COMET)

 Applications for the Stanford University Medical Scribe Fellowship for the 2024 - 2025 year are now open!
They are looking for motivated individuals who have completed undergraduate studies by summer 2024 and are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Fellows are paired with clinical faculty in different specialties at Stanford University School of Medicine and/or at our partnering or affiliated clinics. In addition to observing clinical care and providing medical documentation support, our fellows receive mentorship, application support to health professional schools, and the opportunity to pursue scholarly activities or research.
