Room 8 Cat Shelter Volunteering

Writer: AMSA UCRAMSA UCR

On February 15, 2025, volunteers gathered at Room 8 Cat Shelter to dedicate their morning to helping care for the shelter’s feline residents. From 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM, participants worked together to clean the cats’ living spaces, ensuring they had a comfortable and hygienic environment. Tasks included refreshing bedding, sanitizing litter boxes, and tidying up communal areas to promote the well-being of the shelter’s many cats.

Beyond cleaning, volunteers also spent time socializing with the cats, offering them affection and companionship. This interaction is essential for the cats’ emotional well-being, especially for those waiting for adoption. The event provided an opportunity for volunteers to contribute directly to the shelter’s mission while experiencing the rewarding nature of animal care.

Room 8 Cat Shelter continues to provide a safe haven for rescued cats, and volunteer efforts play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy and loving environment for these animals. The event was a meaningful experience for all involved, reinforcing the importance of community service and animal welfare.
