AMSA Volunteers at Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital: Bringing Smiles Through Art and Creativity

Writer's picture: AMSA UCRAMSA UCR

Our recent volunteer visit to Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital was an incredibly heartwarming experience for AMSA members, as they had the opportunity to bring joy to the kids through art, crafts, and plenty of laughter. Our volunteers spent the day engaging with the young patients, focusing on creating a colorful and playful environment where creativity could thrive.

One of the highlights of the day was the painting session, where AMSA members and kids teamed up to create vibrant works of art. The kids loved choosing colors and making brush strokes alongside our volunteers, resulting in unique masterpieces that brightened up the room.

We also held an arts and crafts session, where everyone got hands-on with fuzzy sticks, googly eyes, and other crafting materials to make cute animal figures and creative decorations. From fuzzy caterpillars to colorful little birds, each creation reflected the kids' imaginations and brought out plenty of smiles and giggles.

This visit to Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital was a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from connecting with others, especially through art and play. We’re grateful to all the AMSA volunteers who participated, and we’re looking forward to more opportunities to make a positive impact in the community. Thank you, Totally Kids, for having us—it was a day filled with laughter, color, and compassion!
